Mt. Calvary Concludes Bible School
Sunday evening, July 20, Mount Calvary Baptist Church celebrated the end of "Cosmic City" Vacation Bible School. Parents were invited to come for a meal with their space voyagers followed by a review of the week's activities.
The NASA Kids (Mount Calvary's Joy Choir) began with their exit from the rocket onto the stage to perform songs and dance.
Sam the Janitor, Sadie, and Circuit made their final performance at the Alpha Base Tour Office. Each of the activity site leaders gave highlights of what the children had made and done during the week including Supernova Crafts, Wonder U Learning Lab, Deeper Space Music/Memory, Asteroid Alley Games, and Outer Limits. Theater of the Galaxies presented one of their Bible dramas that involved all the children in the performance as well as the actors.
During the week, the children explored the awesome wonder of God. They began the week learning about God's creation and continued throughout the week learning about the miracles Jesus performed while here on earth. All the site leaders followed up the theme of the Bible drama in their activities.
The final lesson of the week was the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ that taught the children that the awesome power of God can change the lives of people.
Enrollment for the week including children and workers was 246.
Average attendance was 188. Total collected for Bibles for Brazil was $550.
